Il gioco del "Se…" è noto a tutti. Ma non è facile immedesimarsi in qualcosa che possa anche parlare del nostro modo di essere. Lo abbiamo chiesto ai membri del Comitato artistico. Ecco le loro risposte. "Se decidesse di scegliere una foto, o un'opera d'arte, con la quale si sente in particolare sintonia, che in qualche modo rappresenti il suo modo di essere, quale sceglierebbe, e perché?"
“Ritengo la fotografia di reportage, a sfondo umano e sociale, un mezzo di sublimazione dei valori esistenziali dei quali essa si pone come testimone nei momenti della storia dell’umanità.
La fotografia con la quale mi sento in particolare sintonia è un'immagine del fotografo NICK UT (Associated Press) dell’8/6/1972 in Vietnam.
In questa immagine la tragedia umana viene vissuta con particolare drammaticità e coinvolge la vita e la morte di giovani esseri umani in un momento di grande realismo storico”.

"The young French photographer Matthieu Bernard-Reymond, a 3rd year student in the Higher Education program in Photography of the Ecole d'arts appliqués of Vevedy, Switzerland, is interested in the phenomenology of photography. After a very interesting series dedicated to the time in photography, he realized a new series in which, in a very post-modern way, he tries to analyzie the mechanisms of image-making. His starting-point has been the customary theoretical distinction between site and landscape, the first being physical and the last existing only in a subject's perception. Bernard-Reymond found an interesting way to visualize this: he photographed a person, then he scanned the photograph. After that, using a specialized cartography software that can simulate the relief from a map, he used his photograph instead. Then he introduced the first photograph of the person in that new digital space. The virtual landscape generated by the photograph is the direct result of the scanned image, in the same way in which the "real" landscape is generated by the beholder's perception".
